Discontinuation of support for older browsers

Peoples Trust Company takes your online security very seriously.  In order to provide our customers with a reliable and secure connection to our Online Banking services, on June 27, 2017, Online Banking will only be accessible using the most current version of your preferred browser. (For example, Firefox, Chrome, Safari or Internet Explorer).

If you don’t update your browser by June 27, 2017, you may experience service interruptions as we will not support connections with out of date browsers past that date. 

If you have the latest version, you should be fine but if you are having issues, try enabling TLS 1.1 and 1.2. Here are some settings which may help:  (If your browser is not listed, search for your product's specific instructions)

Internet Explorer:

  • Open Internet Explorer - latest version
  • Keyboard keys: Alt and T > select “Internet Options”
  • Select the “Advanced” tab
  • Scroll down to the “Security” section
  • Check the box: “Use TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2”
  • Click OK
 

Google Chrome:

  • Open Google Chrome - latest version
  • Keyboard keys: Alt and F and select “Settings”
  • Scroll down and select “Show advanced settings…”
  • Scroll down to Network section > click “Change proxy settings…”
  • Select the “Advanced” tab
  • Scroll down to the “Security” section
  • Check the box: “Use TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2”
  • Click OK
   

FireFox:

  • Open FireFox - latest version
  • Type in “about:config” in the URL bar and press Enter
  • Scroll down to “security.tls.version.max” and press Enter
  • Set the value to 3
  • Click OK
 

Opera:

  • Open Opera - latest version
  • Keyboard keys: Ctrl and F12
  • Click on “Security”
  • Click on “Security Protocols…”
  • Check: “Enable TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2”
  • Click OK
  • Click OK
   

Safari:

There are no options for enabling SSL protocols. If you are using Safari version 7 or greater, TLS 1.1 & 1.2 are automatically enabled.

Before trying Online Banking again, try clearing out your cookies and history - this is something you can do a search for to get specific instructions for your product.
